Andy Street CBE visit
On the 29th March 2022, A&T Enclosures was honoured to host the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street CBE.
One of many events organised to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary on 1st June 2022. We had the privilege of providing Andy with a guided tour of our 50,000sq ft. state-of-the-art facility and had the opportunity to speak to him about our 30-year history and our successes along the way.
The management team explained how in recent years A&T Enclosures has seen an increase in the number of green initiative projects it has undertaken including a windfarm project for a large energy management company and EV charging point projects for both vehicle manufacturers and a well-known supermarket chain. Demonstrating to Andy how A&T is able to contribute towards to the region’s ambition of becoming the ‘home of the green industrial revolution’
During his tour Andy had the opportunity to meet with one of our apprentices, Jack Williams to discuss his successful apprenticeship with A&T Enclosures. The company is committed to investing in future generations and appreciates the knowledge and enthusiasm that young people bring to the profession. We continue to promote our apprenticeship programme and have various opportunities available for apprentices across all of our departments. We continue to recruit alongside our apprenticeship partner Dudley College.
Andy was encouraged to learn that A&T Enclosures have been accepted into his ‘Thrive at Work scheme’ we are currently working through the process to achieve accredited status. The company promotes an ‘open door’ policy for anyone that wishes to discuss their mental health and offers a number of other well-being initiatives including a cycle to work scheme to promote good physical and mental health.
Andy Street, the Mayor of the West Midlands, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to A&T Enclosures, another great local business success story who are continuing to invest here in the West Midlands. Not only are they living proof that our region is the natural home of the Green Industrial Revolution, but they are also showing their commitment to upskilling staff and helping young people into work through their apprenticeship programme.”
The company has certainly come a long way since 1992 and reaching this significant milestone in its history has allowed the company not only to look back at what has been achieved over the last 30 years but also to look ahead to the future.
We are honoured that Andy took time out of his busy schedule to come and visit us here at A&T Enclosures and we hope to welcome him back again in the future.
