Dudley-based Business, A&T Enclosures, Celebrates 25th Year
Loaded with steel enclosures, the Dudley-based A&T Enclosures’s flatbed pulled away over 25 years ago to this day; the start of what was to be a thriving local business.
We are pleased to celebrate our 25th Anniversary and are proud to still be located in Dudley, promoting the area as a thriving and progressive area to live and work.
From humble beginnings
Tim King, now chairman of A&T Enclosures, set up the business in 1992 with only eight employees and high hopes for the business.
Fast forward to 2017, and A&T Enclosures sits far away from its humble beginnings, with a 63-strong team including nine apprentices.
Having received a considerable funding package from Lloyds and a grant from the Regional Growth Fund in 2015, A&T Enclosures experienced a considerable boost in growth – doubling turnover in just two years.
A global business across many industries
Today, we’re one of the largest bespoke steelwork manufacturers of enclosures for the electrical industry in the UK and Ireland designing to IEC 61439-2. We service a variety of market segments including data centres, LV switchgear, HVDC transmission, motor control centres and HVAC.
We aim to stay at the forefront in the fabrication of quality all-welded enclosures and offer clients peace of mind when complying with consultants' specification demands. Our engineers care about the product they produce, the relationships they create with customers new and old and have a wealth of experience in the industry. Quality is key to what we do individually and as a team.
Long-standing members of the A&T team
There are some members of our team that have taken the twenty-five-year journey with us and their loyalty and hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. We’d like to recognise Ian Bate and Peter James, who have been with us since day one and we hope they remain part of the team for many years to come.
In addition, we’d also like to acknowledge one of our long-standing employees Andy Attwood, who began his journey with A&T Enclosures in 1995 as an apprentice fabricator. Twenty-two years later, Andy is now a shop-floor foreman and a valued and vital member of our team.
